2023-2024

We have received funding again this year for our sign language programmes, we would like to thank the Department of Communities for their continued support.

The sign language programmes this year will include 10wk Introduction to BSL, 10wk Intermediate BSL, 4wk ZOOM and a 10wk introduction to ISL, all in the deaf centre.  The 6wk courses offered to community groups have continued to grow and each year we have been able, thanks to funding, increase the number of community groups participating

Department of Communities continue to fund our Schools Sign Language Programme, this has been very successful in allowing us to increase the number of schools participating, they include schools from all sectors of our community. Any school interested in joining the programme can contact us via our email josephscentreforthedeaf@yahoo.com

Department of Communities continue to fund our schools sign language program, we have reduced the number of schools we are able to offer the sign language programmes to due to the current climate but hope to return to pre Covid numbers the next academic year 2022-23

2020-2021

Joseph’s Centre for the Deaf would like to thank the Department of Communities for their continued support and funding for our Zoom with a View Sign Language Program over the past year. The new medium of Zoom has allowed us to continue with our courses over the past year, due to the success of Zoom we plan to continue and provide a combination of Zoom and face to face courses in the future.

The Department of Communities has been an active supporter of Joseph's Centre for the Deaf for a number of years through the funding of Adult Sign Language and Schools' Programmes.  This year, they have provided funding to set up this website and have funded our Zoom with a View Programme, an on-line project due to the current Covid-19 situation. We are delighted to announce further funding has been confirmed by Department of Communities for our See Hear project, this funding will be used to purchase office equipment, electronic equipment for the Deaf Centre and resources for our sign language courses.
